
Our Story
Founded in 2017 as a private non-profit association, we have dedicated our efforts to study, analyse and develop social projects focused on providing psychological help and mental health support to Guatemalan individuals and families.
Through our work, we contribute to improving the emotional and social well-being of those who need it most.
2017
Sister Theresa Walter has brought together a team of professionals in Clinical Psychology, committed to providing help to the poorest communities, offering much needed psychological support to improve their emotional wellbeing and quality of life.
2018
In 2018, we opened our second clinic in Santa Rosita, zone 16, thanks to the support of a team of 4 therapists specialized in various areas of mental health, reaching an important milestone in our mission to expand access to comprehensive psychological treatment for the community.
2019
Starting in 2019, Preventive Mental Health began to work and teach workshops for the communities.
2020
In the face of COVID, the PROMAB Group presents its virtual psychological first aid and mental health services to the population; where cases from throughout the republic and from Guatemalans outside the national territory have been treated, in addition to the opening of 2 clinics in zones 12 and 5 of the capital city and care in Nueva Esperanza, Sumpango.
2021
Through the PROMAB project, in response to demand, it expands its services and creates more Mental Health projects at the service of the population, increasingly uniting Mental Health and Clinical Psychology professionals.
2023
Important achievements are achieved such as the launch of 8 clinics, more than 2,400 therapies performed, where more than 450 were in online format and 50% of the consultants were women.
2024
In pursuit of sustainability, projects have been created to help us achieve our objectives, such as: Psychological Support Program for the School Sector (PASE, Spanish acronym for Programa de Apoyo Psicológico al Sector Escolar ), Organizational Mental Health Support Program (PROSME, Spanish acronym for ,Programa de Apoyo a la Salud Mental Organizacional), our partner organisation the Center for Integral Well Being (CBI, Spanish acronym for Centro de Bienestar Integral), Adefagua Friends Club, Race for Mental Health, and other initiatives..
